HMA’s brand-new campus is set on 8 hectares in Debre Birhan town, just 160 kilometers from the capital of Addis Ababa. Our location in the center of the country aligns with our commitment to recruiting a national student body, and our proximity to the capital allows for day trips for students, visiting speakers and other opportunities.

Outstanding Design 

We wanted a world-class educational and residential campus that fit its Debre Birhan setting – and we got it. We started by hiring  Flansburgh Associates, a leading US firm specializing in schools, to create our Master Plan. We then worked with renowned Ethiopian architect Fasil Ghiorgis to translate that plan into beautiful, contextually appropriate and environmentally sensitive buildings, secondary structures and open spaces.

• A grand Academic Complex situated around an inviting central amphitheater for performances and all-school gatherings 

• Bright, spacious classrooms with Apple TVs and whiteboards 

• State-of-the-art, fully equipped Robotics Center and Design Lab  

• Comfortable student dormitories with common rooms on every floor

• Extensive athletic and recreational facilities, including a gymnasium lined for basketball and volleyball and a regulation football pitch and 400-meter track
